Walt Disney, one of the world largest entertainment industry, announced the completion of the acquisition of the 21st Century Fox assets for $71 billion. The agreement on the purchase of these assets, concluded in 2017, estimated the transaction at $52 billion. Disney now owns 20st Century Fox, Fox TV, FX cable networks and National Geographic. Thanks to the deal, Disney will be able to launch its own Disney Plus streaming service at the end of this year. The company will also strengthen its position in competition with technology giants like Amazon and Netflix. Now, Disney will be able to control the television shows and movies throughout the chain of their progress - from creation to distribution through various channels.
