In January, industrial production in France grew by 1.3% compared to December, when zero growth was observed, official data showed. Experts predicted a less significant increase - only by 0.1%. In the manufacturing industry, the figure increased by 1%, accelerating by 0.4% compared with the December increase. Manufacture of computers, electronic and optical products increased by 8.3%. The production of machinery and equipment showed an increase of 5.1%. Electrical equipment output increased by 2.6%. Mining, energy, and water supply increased production by 3.1%, after falling 2.2% in December.
