The net profit of Panasonic, one of the leading consumer electronics manufacturers, increased by 18% year-on-year in the first financial quarter, which ended in June, to 57 billion 400 million yen. Operating profit was 100 billion yen, increased by 19% over the year. The revenue of the Japanese company increased by 8% to 2 trillion yen. Panasonic confirmed the revenue forecast for the current fiscal year at 8 trillion 300 billion yen, the operating profit forecast -a t the level of 425 billion yen.
