The US Department of Commerce reported that the number of houses, the construction of which was started in November, amounted to 1,225, an increase of 3.2% compared with October. The indicator was the maximum in 3 months. Experts had not expected changes in the October number of new buildings. In November, construction of 824,000 single-family homes was started, which was 4.6% less than in October and was the lowest since May 2017. At the same time, growth in the construction of apartment buildings was 22.4%. The maximum growth since April was observed in the number of issued permits for the construction of new houses, the figure for October increased by 5% to 1 million 328 thousand.
