The fall in the number of applications for unemployment benefits in the US for the week exceeded forecasts

Last week, the number of US citizens who had applied for unemployment benefits for the first time fell by 18,000 to 214,000, the country's Ministry of Labor said. The indicator has become minimal since the beginning of May. Experts had expected a decrease in the number of applications to 225 thousand. The average number of applications for the last 4 weeks decreased to 223 thousand from 224 thousand 750. The number of Americans who continue to receive unemployment benefits for the week ended June 30, decreased by 3 thousand and amounted to 1 million 739 thousand. Experts had expected the decrease to 1 million 730 thousand.
