The German entrepreneur confidence index was 99.6 points in March, having risen from 98.7 points in February, the Ifo Institute reported. The index showed growth for the first time after a six-month decline and turned out to be better than the expert estimate of 98.5 points. The attitude in German business circles to the current situation improved in March, the corresponding indicator rose to 103.8 points from 103.4 points. The survey of managers of German enterprises also showed an improvement in their expectations in the coming months to 95.6 points from 93.8 points. Increased confidence was observed in construction, commerce and services. The manufacturing industry, on which the Brexit uncertainty has a particularly significant impact, noted the largest drop in confidence. Here, the index fell to a minimum level since November 2012.
