The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has kept the discount rate at the level of 10%, the lower threshold of the interest corridor is kept at 8%, the upper one - at the level of 12%. This was stated by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank, Elman Rustamov, at a press conference. He noted that since the beginning of 2018, the balance of payments surplus remains the same, the inflation rate is below the predicted corridor, as well as the positive dynamics of economic growth. At the same time, the head of the Central Bank pointed out the possible emergence of inflation risks in the short and medium term due to a number of external factors and fiscal policy that limit the ability to mitigate monetary conditions.
