The head of the American electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla, Elon Musk, told CNBC about plans to launch an unmanned taxi service in the US in 2020. Musk said he hoped to get approval from regulators only in some states, so these taxis would not be in all jurisdictions next year. According to him, in 2020, the company plans to have 1 million Tesla unmanned taxis on the roads in the US. The service will work through the mobile application. The founder of Tesla also shared plans to develop a car that does not have a steering wheel and pedals. Musk expects that such an electric car will be created in two years. The Tesla company, in addition to electric vehicles, produces batteries and electric motors.
