Skoda in the first quarter recorded record levels of profit, sales and revenue

The Czech automaker Skoda Auto, part of the Volkswagen concern, reported first-quarter profit growth of 5.3% year-on-year to a record-high of 437 million euros. Quarterly revenue of 4 billion 547 million euros also became a record, increased by 4.9%. Sales of Skoda cars for the first quarter grew by 11.7% year-on-year to 316,700 vehicles. Excluding China, the figure rose by 9.6% to 237.5 thousand cars. Deliveries of the most popular brand Octavia worldwide increased by 2.6% compared to a year earlier and amounted to 105 thousand 700 cars.
