The American transnational company Cisco, which develops and sells network equipment, said that in the third financial quarter ended April 28, its profits and revenues exceeded analysts' expectations. The revenue of the unit offering solutions in the field of information security, including firewall protection systems and intrusion detection systems, increased by 11% to $583 million. Analysts had expected the figure at the level of 573.6 million dollars. Cisco increased net profit to 2 billion 690 million dollars from 2 billion 520 million dollars a year earlier.
