Prices for nickel will grow by 10% by the end of the year, according to the Indonesian producer of this metal


Nickel prices until the end of 2018 will grow by 10% and reach 14 thousand dollars per ton, Hari Vidyayanto, a chief operating officer at PT Aneka Tambang, abbreviated ANTAM, the Indonesian producer of this metal, told the journalists. According to him, this year the Indonesian producer plans to increase supplies of ferro-nickel alloy to 24 thousand 400 tons from 22 thousand tons a year earlier. It is expected that the export of nickel ore will increase to 4 million tons from 2 million 700 thousand tons, bauxite - up to 1 million 250 thousand tons from 767 thousand tons. According to analysts of Wood Mackenzie, in the next 2-3 years the deficit in the nickel market may increase, and prices can reach 28 thousand dollars per ton compared to today's price of 12 thousand 350 dollars per ton.
