Lyft, the American taxi service, announced the purchase of the largest in the US bicycle rental operator Motivate. According to The Information, the amount of the contract can be about 250 million dollars. In 2017, Motivate accounted for 80% of all trips on rented bicycles in the US. The company operates bicycle rental chains in Washington, Columbus, Minneapolis, Portland, and Oregon. As reported by Lyft, bicycle rental and maintenance services will remain an independent business with the preservation of the brand Motivate. At the same time, Lyft will take on Motivate contracts, some of which are exclusive.
