The volume of industrial production in the UK increased in June 2018 by 0.4% compared to May, when there was a decrease of 0.2%, according to the Office for National Statistics. Analysts had expected the growth of the index by 0.3%. In annual terms, industrial production increased by 1.1%, while the experts had predicted an increase of 0.7%. In June, growth in monthly terms in the manufacturing industry was noted at 0.4%, in the pharmaceutical industry – at 4.5%, in plastic and rubber products – at 3%, in metal processing – at 1.3%. At the same time, the production of electrical equipment fell by 8.3%.
