In June, the German Statistical Office Destatis recorded inflation at 1.6% in the country. Regarding the May consumer price increase of 1.4%, annual inflation accelerated last month, confirming economists' forecasts. Prices in monthly terms increased by 0.3%, which also met the expectations of economists. The population of Germany paid for central heating last month by 5.6% more than a year earlier. Natural gas went up by 4.1%, electricity – by 3.4%. The cost of fuel rose by 1.2%. The June acceleration of inflation is due to rising prices on holidays. Food for the year went up by 1.2%, while consumer electronics fell by 6.1%.
