The total volume of freight traffic by various modes of transport in China in the first half of 2018 increased in annual terms by 6.9% to 23 billion 210 million tons, the Ministry of Transport of China reported. Cargo transportation by rail increased by 7.7%, mainly due to an increase in the volume of coal transportation. Transportation by road showed an increase of 7.7%, by water transport - by 2.5%, by air transport - by 6.4%. The index of processed parcels by express delivery services increased in the first half of the year by 27.5% in annual terms. The freight turnover of China's major ports reached 6 billion 540 million tons, increased by 2.4%.
