Adjusted profit was 43 cents per share, which was higher than analysts' forecast of 41 cents per share due to a decrease in the effectiveness of the tax rate. At the same time, the deterioration of the results in North America and losses in the Asia-Pacific region caused a 13% drop in operating profit to $2.2 billion.
