Finance minister: UK can take advantage of low rate to borrow to invest in infrastructure
The finance minister of Britain Sajid Javid said on Monday that the UK could take advantage and capitalize on the record low interest rates to borrow money and invest in infrastructure projects.
Sajid Javid is set to deliver a speech at the governing Conservative Party’s annual conference and announce an investment package to enhance the country’s roads, broadband coverage, and transport services.
“Record low interest rates – you can take advantage of that as a government when you can borrow at negative interest rates for 30 years and put it into economic infrastructure,” said Javid.
