The Norwegian oil and gas company Equinor has entered into an agreement with South Korea's Korea East-West Power to build Donghae 1, the floating wind farm in South Korea, which will be the first in Asia. The message from the Norwegian company states that a project consortium will be formed for the feasibility study of the project, upon completion of which the construction of the facility will begin in 2022, as expected. Thus, in 2024, the supply of electricity from the new offshore wind farm, which is expected to be the largest in the world, can begin. In size, it will be 2 times larger than the Norwegian station Hywind Tampen. Its commissioning will further enhance the competitiveness of offshore wind energy.
