Construction volumes in the US exceeded forecasts in January


According to the country's Department of Commerce, in January, construction volumes in the United States expanded by 18.6% to 1 million 230 thousand homes, after a decrease of 14% a month earlier. According to experts, the rise was expected to 1 thousand 197 homes. In the first month of the year, the volume of laying for new homes for one family was 926 thousand, an increase of 25.1%. The volume of laying for apartment buildings showed an increase of 2.4%, reaching 304 thousand. The growth rate of the number of building permits in January accelerated to 1.4% against a 0.3% increase in December. At the same time, according to experts, a reduction of 2.8% was expected. The number of permits for the construction of single-family homes was 2.1% less than a month earlier, which was offset by an increase of 7.2% of permits issued for the construction of apartment buildings.
