In April 2018, car production in the UK increased by 5.3% compared to the same month in 2017 to 127 thousand 952 cars, according to the British Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. The increase in output was facilitated by the strengthening of domestic and external demand. The rise in car production for the domestic market in April was 7.3%, for the foreign market - 4.7%. Production for export grew to 103 thousand 662 cars, which is 81% of the total output. At the same time, according to SMMT, the number of cars produced in annual terms in 2018 remains at 3.9% lower than in January-April last year.
