Apple donates 10 Million masks to China amid virus outbreak

SHANGHAI – Apple has sourced and procured 10 Million masks to donate them to the medical community of China amid the coronavirus outbreak. CEO Tim Cook said that Apple resumed its operations and reopened its 42 stores in China. The Apple stores had been closed in the early weeks of February as China restricted travel in an attempt to slow the coronavirus outbreak.

According to Cook, wealthy executives and different corporations all over the world decided to supply and donate to China. As of today, 42,000 people were killed by the coronavirus all around the globe.

Jack Ma, a Chinese business magnate and co-founder of Alibaba BABA.N has also pledged to donate medical supplies like masks and testing kits to China as well as other big companies like Huawei, Baidu BIDU.O, ByteDance, and Tencent 0700.HK.

“China has shown incredible spirit and resilience during the COVID-19 outbreak and we are grateful to our teams, partners, and customers for their support during these challenging times,” Cook said in a message on Weibo.
