Germany's antitrust authorities have launched an investigation into American Amazon, which carries out online trading, Reuters reports. The reason for the investigation was the numerous complaints from retailers about the working methods of the American company that came to the Federal Cartel Office of Germany. The head of department, Andreas Mundt, said investigators would examine Amazon’s requirements for retailers using its website to determine if the company was using its dominant market position. The agency notes that Amazon announced its full assistance to the investigation. Its representatives also noted that the company would continue to support small and medium-sized businesses.
