The International Aluminum Institute reported that for the first month of this year, the volume of aluminum production in the world was 1.1% less than in January last year. Its volume amounted to 5 million 304 thousand tons. In comparison with the previous month, the decline in production was 3.5%. In South America, aluminum production fell by 25.5%, while enterprises in Western Europe reduced output by 4.7%. A decrease in aluminum output was also noted in China and other Asian countries. According to the IAI report, last year aluminum production increased by 1.5% to 64,340,000 tons.
